Yet swimming remains at the core of this Jersey Shore-based camp and school. To remain competitive, the camp has expanded its summer programming to include field trips to professional ball parks, theater lessons and surf camps. "It's a big family here," said Villapiano. Throughout its 90-year history, over 40,000 young people have spent summers at Seashore Day Camp and nearly all of its staff were former campers. That same year the pre-kindergarten to eight-grade private school was added.
